Eloïse La Comtesse De

Born in Paris, 1912, fifteen minutes after her twin brother Alfred, Eloïse narrowly failed to inherit a multibillion franc fortune, a lucky escape, she insists. She abandoned the family bosom, corset and all in 1927 and worked full time as a painter, decorator and fondue chief for Gertrude Stein's salon on the rue de Fleurus.

A chance encounter with Django Reinhardt on a suburban train led her deep into the hot clubs of Paris and the painful lessons of her violin playing governess finally paid off.
